Rihanna and Lupita Nyong’o will star in Ava DuVernay’s movie based on a tweet!
Rihanna and Lupita were sitting next to each other at a Miu Miu fashion show back in 2014, and the photo of the two of them served as an inspiration for this tweet:
Rihanna looks like she scams rich white men and lupita is the computer smart best friend that helps plan the scans https://t.co/PhWs1xd3nj

After the message gained some popularity, both stars replied they were up for it. And now it’s really happening.
As Entertainment Weekly reports, the project was pitched to studios recently, at 2017 Cannes film festival. Netflix had the best offer. It’s still unclear if the idea from the tweet will serve as a plot of the movie. Perhaps there will be some changes.
Reportedly, Netflix wants to release the movie in 2018. DuVernay has to finish her A Wrinkle in Time project before she can commit to this one. She found some time to tease the fans:
We deserve nice things. ✌🏾️https://t.co/VlbKhLNDIv
