Hoda Kotb’s Emotional Return to ‘Today’ After Maternity Leave

On Monday, Hoda Kotb made it back to the Today show after a two-month maternity leave after she adopted her baby girl named Haley Joy.

The news anchor teared up as she joined Savannah Guthrie and Matt Lauer at 7:30 sharp on Monday morning.

She admitted, “I’m scared to be sitting here. I’m a little afraid that I might explode into tears,” to which Lauer answered, “I thought it was ’cause you were miserable being back and you just broke down in tears, but it’s just all of the emotions of the last two and a half months.”
