The Pleasure Garden was Alfred Hitchcock’s directorial debut which was released on this day in 1927. The movie was based on the novel by Oliver Sandys and it follows the story of two chorus girls at the Pleasure Garden theater in London.

During his rich career, Hitchcock has directed over 60 movies. Some of the most famous ones areĀ The Birds, Psycho, Vertigo, etc.

The world lost this great artist on April 29, 1980.
